Our Mission: to Culture and Charity in Action
The Rezza Foundation – Pro Cultura et Caritate, established at the behest of Prof. Msgr. Dario Rezza, a scholar and a canon of the Chapter of St Peter’s Basilica, is a non-profit organization devoted exclusively to charitable purposes. Composed of fellow canons of the Chapter and collaborators of Msgr. Rezza, it is active in the Catholic Church’s charitable initiatives and promotes the delivery of humanitarian aid to underdeveloped and disadvantaged regions of the world.
Active in educational projects and works of art, the Foundation sponsors and/or produces cultural events such as conferences, exhibitions, concerts, research, historical, scientific and related publications, recovery and restoration of historic buildings and places of worship, etc.
Msgr. Rezza’s Vision: Foundations for the Future
The extensive cultural legacy bequeathed to us over the years by the scholarship of Msgr. Rezza—particularly the initiatives he launched while directing the Chapter Archives of St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican and promoting the creation of the “Edizioni Capitolo Vaticano”—serves as a beacon for the Foundation’s long-term projects. These include the continuation of work on the Treasury of St Peter’s; research in palaeography and in testimonies of spirituality in and around the Vatican over the centuries; and the completion of the History of the Vatican Chapter. Open to collaboration with university institutions as well as to new generations of researchers who wish to take up the baton, the Foundation seeks to foster a culture of charity and to support culture through charitable means.
